ink on yellow paper
Hastur isn't the King in Yellow. The King in Yellow is an avatar (so, in essence, a minion) of Hastur. Some things I really like about this design though.
Amazing... I have to ask, which variation is it based on? The original short story, or the Lovecraftian reimagining with Hastur?
Marvelous rendition of a classic Mythos monster *two tentacles up*
nice choice with the yellow paper, really effective, works very well.
This is especially wonderful due to these horrific figures in the back.
This turned out amazing! Love the color, the statues, and especially the tentacles! Beautiful work!
Ia Cuthulu fnglui!!!
bad ass!!! Love it!!!
Well done, looks like a page out of some old grimoire!!
More like a page out of an early 80s roleplaying manual, but that's already pretty impressive.
True! AD & D was my life circa 81-89
Heh; it's funny how the 80s seem as far away from us as the Middle Ages do. I was thinking about this today while listening to some dungeon synth, marveling at how an old crappy synth didn't sound unfitting at all for medieval stuff; I guess it's the same for a certain artstyle.
